Meet the Learning Support Team

Chelsee - Teaching Assistant

Hi I'm Chelsee, I have recently joined Pilgrim school as a TA at the Lincoln base. I have previously worked at pilgrim as a home PSWS and I am happy to be back and be a part of the Pilgrim family again! I studied Mental Health Nursing at the University of York, so I am passionate about promoting positive mental wellbeing.

I live with my husband and young daughter. We love holidays, camping, theme parks, anything that is a fun family day out!

Chelsey - HLTA

My name is Chelsey and I teach Music and PSHE here at Pilgrim. I started out studying Music at the Royal Northen College of Music in Manchester before becoming a session drummer for TV and Radio. In my time as a working musician, I began teaching children how to play the drums, piano and sing. I fell in love with teaching! After delivering class Music in a few mainstream schools, I was lucky enough to start working here at Pilgrim in February 2020. I've found a home here at Pilgrim! The staff and students are wonderful and it's an amazing place to be!

Georgina - Teaching Assistant

Hi! I’m Georgina, one of the TAs at Amber Hill. I joined Pilgrim in January 2023 and really enjoy working here. I mainly help around the classroom by supporting students, sometimes 1:1. I studied Japanese at university, so I’ve got an interest in Japanese culture. I love gaming and I’m very passionate about animals. I love baking too and usually bring some cakes or biscuits to any bake sales we have at Pilgrim.

Jane - Learning Mentor

Hi, I’m Jane and I have worked at The Pilgrim School for around 15 years in various capacities. Currently, I work at the Amber Hill site as a Learning Mentor and I absolutely love it!

I have four grown children and have also recently become a Granny for the first time! I live with my husband and our two dogs Oscar, a very anxious Border collie and Milo a bossy Jack Russel.

Jess - Learning Mentor

Hiya! I’m Jess and I’ve recently joined the Pilgrim family as a Learning Support Officer at the Lincoln base. I love food, fashion, dance and going on holiday! I graduated from Leeds Beckett University in 2023 where I studied Childhood Development and Playwork. I have always been passionate about supporting children and young people. I have previously worked on children’s wards in hospitals, nurseries and SEND schools. I have loved my time working here so far; everyone is lovely and welcoming. I am excited to meet the rest of the Pilgrim family and support all pupils the best I can! Please never hesitate to come have a chat with me, I’m a great listener and love a good chit-chat.

Kev - Learning Mentor

I am Kev and have worked as a Learning Support Officer at The Pilgrim School since January 2019. I currently work part-time as classroom support and also look after the kitchen and free school meals.

I am a huge sports fan and enjoy regularly travelling in our campervan.

Kieran - HLTA

I've been working at The Pilgrim School since October 2019; started as a Learning mentor and am now a HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant). I am Sports lead and also teach PSHE. I am passionate about teaching, sports, and all things Grimsby Town; I bring my experience from playing football and futsal for top clubs including Grimsby town, Bristol City and Future Elite Sport.

When I'm not shaping young minds or coaching under 12s football, you can find me hosting epic quizzes every Friday evening or cheering on my beloved Grimsby Town as a proud season ticket holder.

I am dedicated to teaching sports and PSHE, and working at The Pilgrim School allows me to do this as well as follow my motto in life; which is to help the next generation to be better than mine. I think physical and mental health can often go hand in hand and therefore enjoy being able to promote healthy lifestyles in both subjects I teach and look forward to continue doing this with future pupils and contributing to the positive impact our school community makes.

Maisy - Teaching Assistant

Hi, I'm Maisy and I have joined Pilgrim as a teaching assistant at Baumber. I discovered my love for education while studying at Bishop Grosseteste University and graduated in 2024 with a degree in Special Educational Needs, Disability and Inclusion. I love travelling, reading, baking, going for walks and cats! I have always been passionate about inclusion and helping others, so I am really enjoying working alongside the students and getting to know everyone.

Natalie - Teaching Assistant

Hello, I’m Natalie. I am new to Pilgrim School as the TA at Baumber, It is very welcoming here and I am enjoying getting to know everyone.

Since moving to the area 12 years ago, I have worked mainly in Early Years and supporting children with SEND. I have always been passionate about working with children of all ages to support them through their learning journey to becoming the best young adults they can be.

I am originally from Manchester and live with my husband, 2 teenage boys, a dog, cat and bearded dragon. I enjoy shopping, visiting family and friends, going to theme parks, the beach in the summer and cheering on my sons at the side of football pitch.

Sally-Anne - Learning Mentor

I am a Mum and Grandma and have worked with babies, children and young people in lots of different settings before joining Pilgrim in 2015.

I have never stayed anywhere as long as I have here, as Pilgrim is unlike any other school and that's what I love about it.  We are unique and so are our amazing students.

In my spare time I like to be in Cornwall in my caravan where I can walk my dog on the beach and eat scones (jam first!).
