Modern Foreign Languages Department
Jen
I held a love of learning languages and a desire to ‘see the world’ from an early age. I studied French and German at the University of Birmingham and enjoyed a year abroad in both countries as part of my degree. I was hooked! After graduating, I returned to Germany to teach English as a Foreign Language, followed by a shorter time in a similar role in Madrid, Spain. In 2010, after several different roles, I decided teaching was to be my vocation and I relocated to Worcester to undertake my PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages and began my teaching career at a school there, where I remained for seven years.
I then moved to Lincolnshire and initially worked for a mainstream academy as an MFL teacher. During my time working there, I completed my MA in Education and through research into alternative provision, I happened upon the gem that is the Pilgrim School. I began teaching here in 2019, developing the languages curriculum, amongst other things, and it continues to be an enormous privilege to work with the students, staff and families of the school.
