Exams and Assessment

The pages in this section of the website provide information about formal examinations and internal assessment processes.

Exams

The Pilgrim School is an exam centre and is registered with AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC exam boards.  The school offers a range of qualifications and pupils are able to sit GCSE and BTEC examinations and on-line tests.  Pupils are able to sit exams in the Lincoln, Baumber or Amber Hill bases and transport will be arranged.  The school manages any access arrangements that a pupil needs.  Mock exams are held annually in January to prepare pupils for GCSE examinations.

Decisions regarding a pupil's exams will be made following multiple discussions between teachers, PSWSs and Academic Links at The Pilgrim School, key staff at the mainstream school and, of course, pupils and families. If you have any questions about exams or exam processes, please speak with your PSWS or Academic Link in the first instance.

For more information about this year's exam season, please see the relevant page on the right.

Internal Assessments

The Pilgrim School has an established process of assessment over the course of each academic year. Each term a "progress check" takes place across the school to help track, inform and guide pupil progress. "Progress Checks" rotate between formal assessment, teacher assessment and holistic data checks to help give the most detailed understanding of each of our pupils possible.
